One of the precursors of this genre influenced by ayahuasca and rock n roll was Humberto Caycho Alcántara, better known as Tito Caycho: virtuoso composer and founder of Los Destellos, one of the most emblematic groups of the Peruvian cumbia. This bassist and guitarist are renowned for being one of the pioneers of that psychedelic cumbia sound that evoked the heat of the jungle and invites dancing while it melts. Tito composed songs for groups like Los Mirlos and is a great influence for all cumbieros
